IMC Priora is a specialized hospital with a mission to provide superior, state-of-the-art healthcare services. The Cooperation Agreement with the Faculty of Medicine Osijek turns this institution into a place for scientific cooperation, expert training, and the transfer of valuable knowledge and experience.
It is no secret that beautiful Slavonia has been struggling with the problem of young people emigrating and leaving for years. Highly educated professionals lack the motivation to stay and continue their careers here. By signing the Cooperation Agreement with the Faculty of Medicine, IMC Priora will ensure the best conditions for the professional and scientific development of current and future experts, offering unique opportunities for growth and learning. It will give hope to health professionals, encouraging them to stay and contribute in the heart of Slavonia.
Tomislav Kalem, MSc, a specialist in urology with over 30 years of international experience and the director of IMC Priora, and professor Milomir Ninković, a globally renowned doctor in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery, initiated the idea of International Medical Center Priora. They are the “returnees,” who left prestigious positions in Germany to return to Croatia and take part in shaping the future of Priora. They point out that the entire concept of the hospital rests on a combination of top-notch healthcare and an educational programme to be implemented by world-class experts.
Owing to its world-class conditions, equipment and environment, and commitment to progress and innovation, this recently opened hospital is a hub for talented medical professionals seeking to build their careers and make a significant difference in their country. The focus will be on training current and future generations of doctors, and the hospital will host numerous symposia featuring some of the world’s best medical minds. The motive is humanity, above all, as well as the desire to pass on valuable and extensive knowledge and experience to younger colleagues, who will become the hospital’s true strength and leaders in the years to come.
By cooperating closely with young people, we highlight our commitment to supporting medical professionals and contributing to their development. The purpose of the Agreement with the Faculty of Medicine Osijek is the cooperation of IMC Priora employees with top academic experts, aiming to expand experience and scientific work. Priora IMC is currently in the process of establishing a scientific department, which will be managed by associate professor Aleksandar Kibel, PhD, with the aim of planning and implementing scientific research activities. IMC Priora employees and colleagues from other institutions will be involved in the work of this department. The goal is to advance scientific knowledge in various fields of activity carried out in IMC Priora, develop wider scientific activities in cooperation with other institutions, and encourage the work and development of research staff. Young colleagues and experts will also have the opportunity to participate in various congresses and conferences, learn of the latest methods and technologies in specific fields of medicine, and gain practical experience in the form of research papers.
This cooperation could mark an opportunity for young professionals in Croatia who want to advance, develop, and learn. The goal of International Medical Center Priora is to help doctors feel more competent and confident in their work and to prepare and empower them for all the challenges of the profession. The collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine in Osijek will enable the realization of that goal.
